Once this additional training Is completed these dentists are then eligible to be registered as Orthodontic Specialists.</font> <font face="arial,helvetica">Some general dentists have a particular interest in orthodontics. They are not specialists but may undertake some simple orthodontic treatment.</font></p> <p><font face="arial,helvetica">If you have any doubt as to the severity of an orthodontic problem you should seek the opinion of an Orthodontist or ask your dentist or dental therapist for a referral.</font></p> <p><font face="arial,helvetica">There are 71 orthodontists practicing in New Zealand. Almost all are members of the New Zealand Association of Orthodontists and the New Zealand Dental Association, and work within strict Codes of Practice, which ensures quality advice and service. Many orthodontists travel to provincial areas, providing most New Zealanders with access to Specialist Orthodontic care.</font> <font face="arial,helvetica">New Zealand orthodontists are proud of the services they provide and are held in very high regard throughout the world.</font></p> <p><font face="arial,helvetica">Please make use of this site.
